Pool and Spa Registration

From 1 December 2019, new laws come into effect in Victoria that require all owners of land where a swimming pool or spa is located to register the pool or spa with their local council.
The laws apply to permanent swimming pools and spas that are capable of holding more than 30cm of water and relocatable pools that consist of multiple components and may require assembly. As part of the new requirements, pool and spa owners will be required to obtain and lodge compliance certificates for safety barriers and pay the prescribed fee every few years.
